About The Position

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will develop firmware for real-time, deterministic, safety-critical embedded systems supporting vehicle platforms. The role includes integrating vendor components across controllers and subsystems, implementing RTOS applications, and ensuring reliable communication over hardware interfaces. The engineer will support hardware bring-up and low-level debugging of boards and SoCs, and collaborate with teams to bring up new devices and maintain correct operation across subsystems. The position also implements safety-critical functionality such as fault detection, automated responses, watchdogs, inter-controller coordination, and system validation and debugging. It provides technical leadership for platform safety by coordinating the design, implementation, and validation of safety-critical firmware across subsystems.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 months of experience in a firmware engineer role with an autonomous vehicle company.
  • At least 12 months of experience with C/C++, Python, and shell scripting.
  • At least 12 months of experience with Linux, SafeRTOS, Bazel, and Git.
  • At least 12 months of experience with BSP and HAL development and ARM architectures.
  • At least 12 months of experience with Lauterbach, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • At least 12 months of experience with ISO 26262 processes.
