About The Position

This role involves assisting in new product introduction and product line transfers, designing electrical and computer test fixtures, and building testing simulators. The engineer will train and evaluate direct labor Testers and Test Technicians, troubleshoot electrical test fixtures, and develop/document work instructions and test procedures. Responsibilities also include resolving engineering investigations into root cause failures, assisting with test equipment selection and procurement, and supporting Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S projects. The position requires ensuring proper test equipment availability, overseeing/maintaining computer-controlled and automated equipment, and hands-on testing and troubleshooting with shop personnel. Additionally, the role involves overseeing instrument/tester calibration and gathering product requirements. The engineer will also read and create electrical drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting techniques for test/repair engineering at component level
  • Significant and substantial experience with ICT and functional testing
  • Experience with LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C++, Python and PLC programming languages
  • Ability to analyze schematic circuit designs to understand underlying design theory
  • Skills with electronics design, digital and analog
  • Skill in using lab equipment
  • Skill in configuring and troubleshooting TCPIP networks
  • Knowledge and proficient in all Microsoft applications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in new product introduction and product line transfers between facilities
  • Design electrical and computer test fixtures using relay logic, PLC’s and/or computer controls
  • Design and build testing simulators and other devices
  • Train, evaluate, and assist direct labor Testers and Test Technicians.
  • Troubleshoot electrical test fixtures for both repair and production areas.
  • Develop, document, and maintain work instructions and test procedures.
  • Resolve Engineering Investigations into root cause failures.
  • Assist with test equipment selection, capital justification and procurement
  • Support local Lean, Six Sigma and 5S projects and assist with Kaizen/TPM/Value Stream
  • Responsible for ensuring proper and sufficient test equipment is available.
  • Responsible for overseeing/maintaining other computer controlled and/or automated equipment as assigned.
  • Position includes hands-on testing and troubleshooting with shop test personnel and Repair Technicians.
  • Oversee the calibration of instruments/testers.
  • Gather product requirements (e.g. functionalities, speed, safety standards)
  • Read and create electrical drawings
