About The Position

The Electronics Engineering Division at Celestica is looking for a Senior Electronics Technician to provide technical support for a team of 50-100 Engineers.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in the repair, maintenance and operation of electronic equipment.
  • Completion of Electronics Technology certificate program or equivalent experience.
  • Tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment; tasks associated with LAN/WAN administration; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic systems and equipment.
  • PCB rework and soldering skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BGA, 01005 components rework is a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Troubleshooting, repairs and designs circuits and fabricates electronic test equipment.
  • Working with fine-pitch (0402, 0201) soldering and PCB rework in an R&D lab
  • Software upgrades; tests, debugs, configures and documents software as required to meet user needs.
  • Network IP setup configuration Install and monitor network operating system software.
  • Load and configure software utilities or applications used to facilitate the operation of computers.
  • Install new equipment and modify current installations using various manual and power tools such as hand drill, drill press, etc.
  • Modified and built harness cables as needed.
  • Order and maintain inventory parts for electronic equipment; maintains warranty, service and repair records;
  • Work with vendors to obtain pricing and availability of needed parts
  • Performs incoming inspections on delivered equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings, including schematics, layouts and other technical documents
  • Ability to follow verbal or written procedures and instructions
  • Comfortable using power tools such as cutting tools, electronic screwdrivers, power drills, Dremel tools, etc
  • Hands-on skills to disassemble and reassemble electronic devices
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Team oriented with good communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes (including all controls), and an understanding of the limitations of various models (e.g., frequency response)
  • Ability to document and organize work using Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel
