As a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer - you will lead the planning and development of creative and cost-effective electronic products. The solutions may encompass the design of new, upgraded electronics to replace obsolete technology, which would include supplier re-sourcing and extensive software development. The job function requires collaboration with global, cross functional teams, and disciplines including hardware and software engineering, logistics, purchasing, and manufacturing. The candidate will be expected to appropriately utilize 6-Sigma/L1-L2 NPI methodologies in several areas of their work.

Requirements

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Electronics Engineering - HTH: Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components and devices. Trains others on designing complex integrated circuits. Anticipates the challenges and opportunities associated with creating printed circuit boards. Interprets alternative interfaces between hardware and software and associated requirements and considerations. Advises on matching methodology, materials and tools to the electronic product that is being built. Consults on engineering multiple electronic circuits, components or devices. Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of analog and digital circuits.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing and product development environment. Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution. Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems. Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs. Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment. Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach. Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing strategies to sustaining electronics over the complete life cycle.
  • Lead cross-functional, global teams in the design and production introduction of new products, processes, components, and systems
  • Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
  • Acknowledge and raise customers’ and management’s awareness of trade-offs between time, resources and quality.
  • Develop and manage the project/program to plan
  • Lead projects –Obsolescence, NPI & CPI and complete on time and on cost
  • Support and advise other engineers, managers, accountant, customers, and suppliers
  • Track & understand current and projected obsolescence, and develop redesign and validation strategy to address obsolescence issues proactively
  • Mentor, coach, and develop others
