About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Electronics Engineer who will be key in providing support for incidents occurring on vessels in port, in transit, and worldwide and ensure when traveling to support vessels overseas, meet all commercial and military deployment requirements in Newport News, VA. This role involves supporting the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Tactical Communications Enabler Branch - Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB). The engineer will support a variety of C5ISR systems and systems integration programs, plan, conduct, and direct projects, and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities include assisting in the sustainment of C5ISR assets on Army Watercraft, providing technical consultation, performing corrective and preventive maintenance, supporting On Condition Cyclical Maintenance (OCCM), operational/specialized support, C5ISR equipment installation and maintenance, configuration management, and addressing reported IRs by phone, email, or on-site.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering or technical degree (preferably electrical) with at least 4 years’ experience Or a High School Diploma with at least 10 years' of experience working with at least 3 of the following: Radars, satellite comminution systems, integrated bridge systems, C5ISR equipment, or GMDSS. (6 years of additional experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.)
  • Must have previous experience supporting Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
  • Must have experience pertaining to the C5ISR assets installed on Army Vessels/Platforms.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to multiple-task simultaneously and assist in management activities.
  • Must have formal training and education in OEM Products.
  • Must have an Active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.

  • Prefer (OSHA) standards (Code of Federal Regulations [CFR], Title 29, Maritime)
  • Prefer FCC licenses: Radiotelephone general operator License (Elements 1, 3)
  • Prefer FCC licenses: Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) Operator / Maintainer License with Radar endorsement (Elements 7, 8, 9).
  • Prefer a TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

  • Support the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Tactical Communications Enabler Branch - Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
  • Support a variety of C5ISR systems and systems integration programs.
  • Plan, conduct and direct projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks and travel.
  • Assist in the sustainment of C5ISR assets on Army Watercraft including technical, repair, and sustainment services of C5ISR assets and suites of equipment installed on Army Watercraft System (AWS) vessels and platforms.
  • Provide technical consultation to customer.
  • Dealing with people; working alone; making judgments and decisions; and directing, controlling, or planning the activity of others.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • On Condition Cyclical Maintenance (OCCM) support.
  • Operational/specialized support.
  • C5ISR equipment installation and maintenance and reconfiguration or removal of equipment.
  • Configuration management.
  • Provide support to the Government to address reported IRs by phone, email, or on-site.
