About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer Technician in Norfolk, VA. This role is key in assisting with Combat Systems maintenance and maintenance training to support shipboard personnel in the operation, maintenance, and assessment of Combat Systems equipment. The technician will provide services including maintenance and training for various combat systems equipment such as Alarms/Sensors, Security systems, Exterior Communications equipment, Audio/Visual/Display systems, Force Protection equipment, Navigation equipment, Meteorological equipment, Countermeasure systems, and associated network systems (excluding IT systems). They will also be involved with Electronic Cooling/Dry Air systems, including repairs, and will instruct Ship’s Force personnel on conducting functional checks and operational tests of these systems/equipment on U.S. Navy CG, DDG, and Amphibious class ships home-ported in the Hampton Roads area. This position is contingent upon Customer Approval.

Requirements

  • Must have an Associate’s degree in appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 12 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree at least 2 additional years of technician experience will suffice.
  • Must have at least 12 years’ experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of hull, mechanical, and electrical or electronic equipment and systems of U.S. Naval ships is required.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience directing or supervising a workforce of less skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Fiber Optics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the services of one Senior Engineering Technician (Electrical) who can provide Combat systems maintenance and maintenance training.
  • Assist shipboard personnel in the operation, maintenance and assessment of combat systems equipment including but not limited to: Alarms/Sensors, Security systems, Exterior Communications equipment, Audio/Visual/Display systems, Force Protection equipment, Navigation equipment, Meteorological equipment, Countermeasure system and associated network system (excluding IT systems), Electronic Cooling/Dry Air system and associated repairs.
  • Instruct Ship’s Force personnel to conduct functional checks and operational test of those system/equipment on board U.S. Navy CG, DDG and Amphibious class ships home ported in Hampton Roads area.
