About The Position

Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Senior Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to support a large-scale federal facilities engineering and infrastructure effort. This position is designated as Key Personnel for the base contract and is 100% remote. The Senior Electrical/Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering expertise supporting facilities electrical and mechanical systems, building controls, utility monitoring and control systems, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring extensive engineering experience with large-scale facilities and a strong background in evaluating, troubleshooting, testing, and improving complex building and utility systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license — required.
  • Relevant management or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience within the engineering functional area of the project.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering surveys, assessments, and technical evaluations of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, building systems, controls, and related infrastructure.
  • Support HVAC and mechanical systems, including testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB).
  • Evaluate and support Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) and facility control systems.
  • Support Utility Monitoring & Control Systems (UMCS) and utility metering.
  • Work with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) environments.
  • Assess electrical distribution and facility electrical systems.
  • Support controls and metering modifications and building technology assessments.
  • Participate in system commissioning, testing, and performance evaluations.
  • Support electrical safety activities, including arc-flash assessments, as applicable.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight within the engineering functional area.
  • The work described for the program specifically includes engineering surveys and assessments, equipment and system troubleshooting, controls and metering modifications, building technology assessments, and HVAC air/water TAB.
