About The Position

As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team executing custom project designs, meeting customer expectations, quality, schedule, budget, goals, and ensuring project risks are mitigated. This role within the team, the chosen individual will complete the EI&C design for a wide range of water technologies. This role will include leading the design effort for Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls and Programming, supporting our production facilities, participating in customer facing factory acceptance tests and assisting through commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited University or College.
  • Experienced with complex industrial control system design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant or related experience.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Experience with design of complex low voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC
  • Experience with instrument selection and design calculations
  • Experience with control documentation, automation hardware and PLC/HMI programming
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including coordinating, reporting, documentation, and presentations).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of hydraulics, water chemistry and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
  • Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and processes related to Veolia products and systems.
  • Experience with control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, HMI and SCADA design and programming.
  • Basic technical knowledge in the field of industrial control systems.
  • Understanding of Low Voltage Power Distribution System design.
  • Professional Engineer or EIT designation.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and comment on engineering documents, including P&IDs, GAs, process design guidelines, return of experience, and engineering best practices guides.
  • Interpret, comment and follow contract and customer specifications.
  • Perform required calculations and select the appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities as well as all supporting documentation (instrument lists, termination drawings, instrument datasheets, etc.) with operator and equipment safety in mind.
  • Design the complete detailed electrical design for water treatment facilities (single line diagrams, load lists, I/O lists, network architectures, panel design and schematics) with operator and equipment safety in mind.
  • Design the complete detailed process control documents (Control Philosophy, Control Logic & Sequence Charts) for plant operation, for assigned projects.
  • Perform FAT’s, CVT’s and checkouts as required.
  • Engage in the development of automation deliverables including test plans, programs and network design.
  • Manage budget, scope, schedule and proactively report risks and opportunities to project teams.

Benefits

  • The salary range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $89,000 - 95,000 USD annually.
