About The Position

R.D. Graham is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements, helping ensure projects are bid competitively and profitably. For over 30 years, R.D. Graham Electric has delivered high-quality commercial electrical services throughout the Carolinas. Requirements

5+ years of experience in electrical estimating
Knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Electrical field experience (electrician, foreman, or similar)
Experience with design-build projects
Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimates
Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.)
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Prepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlines
Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams
Maintain accurate cost databases and historical records
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
Assist with project handoff to operations after award
Manage and oversee estimating team members
