About The Position

Halo Industries has developed breakthrough technology to revolutionize a decades-old semiconductor material slicing process. Founded in 2014 at Stanford University, Halo received significant funding in 2024, paving the way for rapid expansion, strategic customer engagement, and the launch of volume manufacturing. Halo Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to contribute to the future of Halo’s proprietary material processing equipment. This person will be detail-oriented with the ability to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues. The candidate will work in a small team to bring new products from concept to production release.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / Associate’s degree and/or Equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in semiconductor, display, laser, mechanical, or similar fields with industrial capital equipment experience highly desired.
  • Proficiency reading electrical schematic, wiring, layout, and assembly drawings for PCBA, control cabinets, I/O systems, cables
  • Experience with electrical equipment: DVM, oscilloscope, function generator, data acquisition systems
  • Experience using electrical tools including soldering irons, wire strippers, terminal blocks, and crimpers
  • Familiar with ESD protocols and safety working with 208VAC systems
  • Experience using mechanical hand tools, such as screw drivers, thread taps and dies, socket sets, wrenches and basic machine tools such as drills, sanders, saws, Dremel tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience setting up data acquisition, automation and management systems (LabView, Excel)
  • Experience running experiments with organized data collection
  • Experience with PLM systems, BOM structure and part management
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or similar software suites.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting complex hardware systems, isolate issues, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with design engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and modify experimental electrical and electro-mechanical devices and test fixtures for laboratory proof-of-concept projects.
  • Build and troubleshoot prototype surface mount and through-hole PCBAs components.
  • Rework PCBAs with component changes, trace cut and jump
  • Build and troubleshoot electrical control boxes and cables using correct cutting, crimping and wire management techniques
  • Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams – including mechanical, electrical, optical, and software engineers to resolve integration and performance issues.
  • Contribute to design and readiness reviews, providing feedback focused on hardware testability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Document processes accurately, including material requests, quality issues, efficiency tracking, and measurement reporting.
  • Support engineers in test instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Assemble, perform, inspect, and document high-precision mechanical tests.
  • Conducting experiments, prototype manufacturing, and product demonstrations as directed by R&D engineers.
  • Contribute to team success by mentoring and coaching new team members as needed.
