About The Position

The Sr. Electrical Engineering Technician plays a key role in advancing medical device innovation by supporting the design, development, testing, and sustainment of electrical systems and components. This position serves as the primary steward of the electrical engineering laboratory, ensuring effective management of equipment, prototypes, supplies, and workspaces while providing hands-on technical support for troubleshooting, prototyping, rework, and documentation activities in a regulated environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical training
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering technician experience
  • Experience using laboratory equipment including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Power supplies, Spectrum analyzers, Logic analyzers
  • Experience soldering and reworking electronic assemblies
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • The physical ability to lift and handle items up to 45 lbs.

  • Knowledge of embedded electronics, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, and Ethernet systems

  • Experience maintaining engineering laboratory equipment and assets
  • Experience building engineering prototypes and test fixtures
  • Experience with Altium Designer including schematics and layout

Responsibilities

  • Manage R & D engineering laboratory operations including equipment, supplies, prototype hardware, tools, workstations, and general organization.
  • Coordinate equipment calibration activities and manage service provider relationships to ensure laboratory equipment remains compliant, operational, and properly maintained.
  • Build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical prototypes, assemblies, test fixtures, and engineering hardware.
  • Coordinate and document engineering prototype rework activities and maintain associated records.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, assembly drawings, cable drawings, Bills of Material, and Change Orders.
  • Assist engineers with hardware debugging, root cause investigations, and electrical testing activities.
  • Create cable assemblies, harnesses, and related drawing documentation.
  • Maintain inventory and tracking of engineering equipment, tools, and prototype assets.
  • Support verification testing, data collection, and test fixture development activities.
  • Design and modify printed circuit board layouts using Altium.
