About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Seattle, Washington, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you will provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client guidance while overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of electrical systems in buildings. You’ll also support project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to help achieve project goals and positive client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
  • Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system design efforts, including detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Perform site assessments and develop technical analyses and reports
  • Partner with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information clearly
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication
  • Review electrical system designs, calculations, specifications, and correspondence to support IMEG quality control standards and client requirements
  • Mentor, train, and motivate staff
  • Provide technical support in resolving field issues with limited support from senior staff
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and electrical engineering best practices, and contribute to innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project interviews and presentations
