About The Position

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is adding a Senior Electrical Lead Engineer to our team in Seattle, Washington. As a Senior Electrical Lead Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and driving the success of the electrical discipline within your office and region. Your leadership will guide technical excellence, mentorship, and project execution across a diverse portfolio, including healthcare, education, and commercial buildings. Through your expertise, you will help refine and implement technical standards, drive process improvements, and contribute to the professional development of the engineering team. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality project delivery and expanding our impact in the industry.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Working experience with building and electrical codes.
  • Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit experience.
  • Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
  • LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
  • WELL certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the electrical discipline within the office and region.
  • Mentor and develop department staff, fostering career growth through structured development plans.
  • Be a local supervisor to staff.
  • Ensure adherence to firm QA/QC protocols and maintain technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Oversee, plan, and design electrical systems for all types of projects including but not limited to: healthcare, education, laboratories, institutional high-rise and commercial buildings.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
  • Play an integral role in regional leadership, contributing to strategic initiatives and organizing discipline meetings.
  • Work with internal and external team members including architects, consultants, code officials and contractors.
  • Manage regional staff workload effectively, leveraging local leadership.
  • Oversee recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
  • Support and refine Glumac’s technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
  • Provide feedback on technical standards implementation and suggest improvements.
  • Track training opportunities and recommend professional development initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for any claims or challenges requiring engineering expertise in the region.
  • Be able to lead and effectively manage a group of electrical engineers within the office.
  • Assist in marketing and development of new and existing Clientele.
  • Write proposals for new projects.
  • Participate in activities and organizations related to our industry, develop peer relationships, technical growth and business contacts.
