About The Position
Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on improving communication through its camera-centric products. The company operates Snapchat, Bitmoji, and Specs Inc., a subsidiary developing advanced augmented reality eyewear called Specs. Specs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a tool for creating AR experiences. The company is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Devices for the Spectacles team to contribute to the design and development of these innovative products.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent years of experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical or hardware engineering
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and understanding of best practices
- Familiarity with Rigid, Flex and Rigid Flex PCB design
- Experience in electronic design, including component selection, schematic design, and familiarity with tools like Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture
- Experience with lab instrumentation
Nice To Haves
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated experience developing and shipping consumer electronic products at scale
- Experience with integrated circuit design such as VHDL or analog design
- Knowledge of layout strategies to meet Power Delivery Network impedance targets or in deriving power impedance masks
- Excellent process development and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Define, design, review and supervise schematic and layout for PCB designs
- Lead technical discussions and provide architectural-level trade-offs for product requirements, considering performance, power, area, and cost
- Test and validate electrical designs, including memory interfaces, power regulators, and power delivery networks
- Own challenging failure analysis, including hands-on debugging, root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for corrective actions
- Provide technical leadership to junior engineers through best practices and guidance
- Collaborate with firmware, software, thermal, and RF teams to align on requirements and execution
- Travel internationally up to 20% to support development builds onsite at external suppliers and partners
