About The Position

We are seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our Electronics Design Group, reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in micro power supply design, analog circuitry, and embedded systems. This role involves leading the design and development of new electronic PCBs, guiding projects from initial concept through breadboard validation, prototyping, and release to production. Designs will focus on low-current devices, typically ranging from 50–200 mW. The position also requires preparing project proposals, conducting circuit design and analysis, developing PC board layout concepts and requirements, and supervising mechanical design. The engineer will perform stress and reliability analysis of circuitry, specify and select components, manage de-rating, and conduct cost analysis, while also creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation. The role drives the creation of new products and enhances existing ones to reduce costs, add features, improve performance and reliability, and integrate embedded technology. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for timely interactions across engineering teams at various Elbit Systems of America locations. The engineer will also prepare and manage project schedules, supervise electronics technicians and interns, and provide one-on-one mentoring.

Requirements

• BS Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• 6+ years' experience
• Experience with any of the following: micro-PCB design, low power, ultra-dense, electronic packaging, miniature electronic devices, magnetics, EMI filtering.
• Experience with Failure Analysis of PCB’s.
• Experience with digital electronics, DSPs, PGAs, FPGAs, PICs and Microcontrollers/Microprocessors (STM32 and MSP430 in particular)
• Strong electronic hardware design experience and good understanding of firmware/software development processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with closed loop feedback systems
• Demonstrated initiative, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• MS Office skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio
• Ability to obtain DOD Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop schematics and PCB layouts in compliance with the specifications.
• Verify design robustness by completing EMI product level testing.
• Effectively communicate design and engineering requirements.
• Able to work as part of a cross functional team.
• Capability to develop and conduct electrical tests to include troubleshooting.
