The Senior Forward Reliability Engineering & Support Engineer will collaborate within the organization to review and develop processes or systems to support effective management of the electric grid. This role operates in an environment focused on next-day analysis, distinct from Real-Time actions or Long-Term Transmission Planning, allowing for direct impact on the operation of the Bulk Electric System. The engineer will be part of a team preparing the electric system for expected operating conditions a day ahead, requiring collaboration with internal MISO departments, Member utilities, and external resources. Responsibilities include analyzing the power system using learned techniques to adjust the operating plan for a successful operating day and designing future processes for compatibility within MISO and with external customers, driven by industry changes or new software requirements. Success in one year will be measured by demonstrated proficiency in group tools and processes, and by changing at least one process or tool that impacts analysis or inter-department handoffs.
