About The Position

GRW, a leading design firm, has a career opportunity for a Registered Senior Electrical Engineer at its Lexington, KY, headquarters. GRW is a full-service engineering, architectural, and geospatial consulting firm founded in 1964, with offices across Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and West Virginia. As an electrical design engineer, you will collaborate with civil, architectural, mechanical, and structural departments on diverse projects, including local and regional utility systems, energy-efficient buildings, environmentally sensitive site developments, and modern transportation facilities. GRW handles projects ranging from planning studies to those with construction costs exceeding $985 million, and building areas from a few thousand square feet to over 600,000 SF. Building designs incorporate advanced power and lighting systems (LED), telecommunications, audio/visual, electrical power distribution, and other systems, often pursuing Net Zero Energy and LEED certification. GRW's in-house team enables the successful planning, design, and delivery of both large, complex, and smaller projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program
  • Professional Engineer Registration in at least one State
  • Ability to seek reciprocity with other State Registration Boards
  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing and providing construction administration for facilities as a design consultant
  • Basic knowledge of building, electrical, fire codes and standards to determine engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection for different voltage systems
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Desire, motivation and ability to exceed the firm's and clients' expectations
  • Dedication and willingness to continue professional growth

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Military, Justice, or water treatment desirable
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Revit desirable
  • VisualPro and/or AGI32 experience desirable
  • SKM PowerTools for Windows experience desirable
  • Past facilitation of LEED Certification or Green Globes desirable
  • More experience is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with civil, architectural, mechanical and structural department colleagues on a variety of projects.
  • Design local and regional utility systems, energy-efficient buildings, environmentally sensitive site developments, and safe, modern transportation facilities.
  • Design the latest power and lighting systems for LED, telecommunications, audio/visual, electrical power distribution and other systems.
  • Plan, design and deliver large, complex projects.
  • Continue professional growth and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements.
  • Plan project resources, maintain schedules and stay within budget.
