AMS is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to serve as a technical leader in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting advanced I&C systems. This role handles complex diagnostic challenges, supports system-level evaluations, mentors junior engineers, and represents AMS in customer‑facing technical engagements. Senior engineers at AMS play a pivotal role in improving equipment, methodologies, test procedures, and overall engineering quality across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Deep hands‑on experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, signal processing, hardware, or DAQ systems
- Expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and DAQ tools
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting complex engineering tasks
- Willingness to travel (~25%)
- U.S. citizenship required
Nice To Haves
- Experience in nuclear, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
- Hardware troubleshooting, prototype development, or circuit‑level testing experience
- Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑461, IEC 61000, or EMC/EMI troubleshooting
- Experience mentoring or leading engineers
- Strong background writing advanced engineering evaluations or test procedures
Responsibilities
- Lead complex testing and troubleshooting of nuclear I&C and electrical systems
- Oversee data acquisition, signal measurement, advanced diagnostics, and engineering evaluations
- Serve as a primary technical expert during on‑site plant trips and customer interactions
- Diagnose unexpected test results, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Support hardware development, prototype evaluation, equipment upgrades, and documentation updates
- Drive quality assurance compliance and structured engineering processes
- Produce high‑quality reports, evaluations, and customer‑facing technical documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and guide technical development
- Provide expertise during customer discussions, project planning, and engineering reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain strong customer rapport
