About The Position

The Senior Electrical Engineer specifies, designs, develops, realizes, integrates, and tests modules and tools as part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with cross-functional partners and suppliers. The role delivers solutions within system specifications, cost targets, and project schedules, contributing to competitive, achievable, and serviceable products. It provides electrical engineering expertise throughout the product life cycle, including concept feasibility, new product introduction, sustainment, and customer-facing problem resolution. The engineer takes ownership of technically complex module work, considering industrialization and cross-team impacts. The role leads interfaces with suppliers and other disciplines in less-defined environments and guides a small group of peers through technical execution. Work includes electrical design, root-cause analysis, requirements and specification management, integration, and product validation and verification. The position is on-site, with a flexible arrangement allowing remote work up to two days per week. Travel may be required based on business needs. There may be exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents. The current stated base annual salary range is $102,375–$150,000; another salary range of $0–$0 also appears in the posting. Compensation is determined based on role, level, location, market data, and candidate-specific factors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, document, and manage requirements with traceability; translate them into clear specifications; and align interfaces.
  • Ability to develop electrical engineering concepts and solutions, make technical tradeoffs, resolve issues, and realize designs meeting functionality, performance, cost, compliance, and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to plan and execute verification and validation and ensure qualification evidence supports release readiness.
  • Ability to support system or product integration by coordinating dependencies and applying disciplined configuration management and traceability.
  • Ability to estimate effort, plan and track work, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver work to agreed quality and timelines.
  • Ability to follow EHS policies and identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Routinely sit, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Occasionally move around campus and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under the United States Export Administration Regulations before beginning work.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree.
  • Experience with Electronic Design Automation (E-CAD), preferably Mentor Graphics xDX/xPCB Designer.
  • Knowledge of circuit simulation tools such as PSpice or other tools.
  • Experience with electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.
  • May require domestic and/or international travel depending on business needs.
