About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least ten years of experience for its Atlanta office. This role involves consulting engineering and project management, with the ideal candidate being a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will collaborate with the business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing and business development. This position offers the chance to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative, multidiscipline office. The candidate will work directly with clients, providing consulting services and will be well-versed in all aspects of electrical systems design and specification. The desired individual should be comfortable consulting to architects, owners, and general contractors, and have a desire to work as part of a multidiscipline engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Minimum of 10 of years of experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications.
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, etc.).
  • Must have SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience.
  • The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, federal government and/or commercial projects.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with lighting design is desired, but not required.
  • Experience with Telecom, A/V, Cybersecurity, and security designs is desired, but not required.
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus.
