About The Position

Watchfire Signs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electronics for LED displays, scoreboards, and related systems. This role is a key technical contributor responsible for delivering robust, manufacturable hardware solutions from concept through production. You will work across hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain teams while driving high-impact product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of hardware design experience in a product development environment
  • Strong background in digital design
  • Ability to write embedded firmware for microcontrollers and FPGAs
  • Experience with PCB design tools (Altium preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment and hardware debugging
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver results
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the US required
  • Will not consider candidates who need sponsorship, now or in the future, to be legally employed in the US
  • No H1B, OPT, CPT or other “temporary work authorization” candidates will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic systems including digital, firmware, and power circuits
  • Own schematic development, component selection, and PCB design reviews
  • Lead hardware development from concept through validation and production release
  • Troubleshoot complex system and board-level issues; drive root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on product development
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), pilot builds, and production ramp
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve cost, quality, and yield
  • Evaluate and implement component changes related to supply chain or obsolescence
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, test plans)
