About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least ten years of experience for its Atlanta office. This role involves consulting engineering and project management, and the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with the business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. The candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services and must be well versed in all aspects of electrical systems design and specification. The desired individual should be comfortable consulting to architects, owners, and general contractors, and have a desire to work as part of a multidiscipline engineering team.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of experience
  • Familiarity with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, etc.)
  • SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience
  • Experience in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, federal government and/or commercial projects
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with lighting design
  • Experience with Telecom, A/V, Cybersecurity, and security designs
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus
