About The Position

As a Mission Critical Electrical Engineering SME, you will be instrumental in providing technical expertise to internal team members and external clients, driving our data center work forward. You will be responsible for providing guidance and training to our in-house engineering team by giving principal level advice on system selection, trends in the market, specialty consulting advice, and client contact/context. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you play a key role in coordinating electrical activities across large-scale building and data center projects. Your expertise ensures smooth execution and compliance, while supporting project teams with technical leadership and proactive problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering
  • P. Eng Registration in Canada
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for data centers, mission critical facilities, hyperscale, semiconductor, industrial, or similarly complex facilities.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, UL/NEMA requirements, and applicable electrical safety practices.
  • Experience with high-density AI, HPC, semiconductor, or liquid-cooled data center deployments.
  • Experience in the design of: Power distribution systems, Standby power systems, UPS systems, Grounding and bonding, Lighting and controls, Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
  • Experience with relevant codes, standards, and industry practices
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams and clients
  • Experience and passion for leadership and mentoring
  • Ability to travel to project sites, vendor facilities, and partner data centers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of electrical systems for data center and mission critical facilities
  • Provide technical electrical engineering input to clients and internal project teams
  • Apply knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices relevant to data centers and mission critical environments
  • Lead in developing electrical designs including: Utility service configurations, High and medium voltage distribution, Backup power systems, UPS systems, Generator systems, Metering and monitoring solutions, AC and emerging DC distribution approaches
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders
  • Participate in key design discussions and help communicate electrical design decisions to clients
  • Contribute to all project phases, including, Pursuit, Concept design, Detailed design, Construction administration, Commissioning, and closeout.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, particularly the electrical engineering approach and technical strategy
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement within the electrical engineering team
  • Help develop technical documentation, reports, specifications, and design packages
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple offices and global teams
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development where appropriate
