About The Position

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing Test to join its Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team. The EW Manufacturing Team rapidly iterates and builds defense hardware for Electromagnetic Warfare, covering manufacturing activities such as design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. The Senior Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing Test ensures systems are tested to stringent standards, products consistently meet quality expectations, and production throughput requirements are achieved. The role calls for creative solutions to difficult testing problems and continuous improvements in automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics. The engineer owns production test activities, troubleshoots electrical issues, maintains test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, supports early-stage test design, and works with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on failure analysis and product improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant industry experience, emphasizing manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers on testing PCBA/electronic assemblies.
  • Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment, including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems, and measurement sensors.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES).
  • Experience on projects involving integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization.
  • Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN.
  • Experience with ESS-related testing, including thermal and vibration testing.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Own production test activities and ensure production test flow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation.
  • Improve and sustain test systems to increase automation, consistency, test coverage, and efficiency while reducing total cycle time.
  • Generate test work instructions in MES that technicians can follow.
  • Train technicians on equipment use as required.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides and diagrams.
  • Determine root causes of product failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Provide feedback on early-stage test design for processes supporting new product introduction (NPI).
  • Analyze test data, document results, and prepare detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to recommend product enhancements based on test outcomes.
  • Optimize test strategies to reduce test time without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and methodologies.
  • Execute testing as required.
