About The Position

P2S|CMTA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer dedicated exclusively to healthcare facilities. This role involves leading and supporting all phases of engineering projects, from proposal development through construction completion. The engineer will apply advanced design principles, perform complex calculations and modeling, and prepare construction estimates and specifications. Responsibilities also include managing project budgets, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to business development efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of electrical design experience in healthcare or commercial buildings
  • Ability to lead projects from concept through construction
  • Strong understanding of healthcare codes and standards
  • Experience using NEC, AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
  • Familiarity with: California Building Code and National Electrical Code
  • Familiarity with HCAI/OSHPD standards
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.

  • Experience with low-voltage building systems (fire alarm, security, voice/data, nurse call)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all phases of engineering projects—from proposal development through construction completion—dedicated exclusively to healthcare facilities.
  • Apply advanced design principles, perform complex calculations and modeling, and prepare construction estimates and specifications.
  • Manage project budgets.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Contribute to business development efforts.
  • Review existing as-built drawings.
  • Perform field investigations.
  • Coordinate design schedules and deliverables.
  • Conduct feasibility studies.
  • Prepare schematic designs.
  • Design power single line and riser diagrams.
  • Design low voltage and medium voltage infrastructure.
  • Design for electrical equipment (substation, switchboard, transformer, panelboard) replacement projects.
  • Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards.
  • Design electrical systems using National Electrical Code and Energy Standards.
  • Perform QAQC for electrical design.
  • Coordinate among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural.
  • Work in close contact with the entire design team.
