About The Position

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Healthcare in Colorado Springs or Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center). In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for lighting, lighting controls, power distribution, branch circuiting, and systems engineering and design for various facilities, specifically within the healthcare market. This role is entrepreneurial and offers growth opportunities through mentoring from experienced engineers and support from a team of engineers and drafters. The position reports to a senior engineering manager who will provide mentoring and training for professional growth and advancement. The role involves full Electrical design, including Power distribution, Lighting, and Telecommunications for healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include code research and application, fieldwork, preliminary schematics through final designs, calculations, equipment specification, sizing, and layout, coordination with other staff, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, submittal review, and construction administration. Project management for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines is also included. The candidate will interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors, maintaining project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality. This role also includes the responsibility of mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
  • 6-10 years of professional experience in electrical design
  • Design experience to include some Healthcare experience (medium/large commercial, healthcare and institutional facilities)
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously

  • PE preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power distribution, Lighting, and Telecommunications for the healthcare market
  • Actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application
  • Conduct fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions
  • Manage projects from preliminary schematics through final designs
  • Perform calculations
  • Specify, size, and lay out equipment
  • Coordinate with other production staff
  • Prepare accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications
  • Conduct submittal review and construction administration
  • Manage projects for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing disciplines
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors
  • Maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and drafters
