About The Position

SSOE is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data centers and high-performance AI factories. In this role, you will work closely with an exceptional and fully integrated staff of in-house engineering and architecture teams to ensure that these critical projects meet and exceed industry standards from scope development to commissioning and start-up. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university program is required.
  • PE (Professional Engineer’s) License with the ability to become registered in additional states is required.
  • At least 12 years of experience in electrical engineering facilities design.
  • Experience in data center facilities design is required.
  • Experience with DC (direct current) distribution systems at 400VDC (400 volts direct current), 800VDC, or 1500VDC is required.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution systems, and backup power systems.
  • Experience working with Revit.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data center projects to ensure technical excellence.
  • Make independent decisions on engineering challenges, practices, and methods, crafting innovative design solutions.
  • Prepare studies and technical specifications to support project development.
  • Provide expert advisory services on data center projects.
  • Actively participate in meetings and conferences, representing the firm, engaging in discussions on critical issues, and aligning project strategies.
  • Lead the planning, development, and coordination of medium to large engineering projects or portfolio of complex projects.
  • Work closely with disciplines and project/program managers to ensure project success.
  • Perform independent design, review, and assurance tasks to maintain high standards of technical quality.
  • Manage discipline quality procedures, including project evaluations and technical recommendations.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching of less experienced staff.
  • Travel required.
