Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience creating technical documentation related to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and design artifacts
  • Experience developing detailed verification test plans and test reports
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multi-functional environment (e.g., field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers)
  • U.S. citizenship required due to access requirements under applicable program/contract regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing with COTS hardware
  • Familiarity with Linux or Solaris operating systems
  • Project or team leadership experience
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential replacement hardware components, perform trade studies, and select devices that best meet program requirements
  • Execute preliminary and detailed hardware design activities
  • Conduct device‑level bench testing and system‑level integration testing in support of Engineering Change Proposals
  • Develop and review technical documentation across the product lifecycle
  • Mentor junior engineers throughout the development cycle
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain
  • Lead small teams of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals (as opportunities arise)
