About The Position

The Senior Electrical Designer performs and oversees electrical building systems design, provides technical leadership, mentors staff, coordinates multidisciplinary projects, supports business development, and assists with project management.

Requirements

  • ABET Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 5–10+ years of experience in electrical design
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and/or mentoring junior staff

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical building systems design including power, lighting, and grounding, as well as pathways for communications, electronic security, and audio/visual systems.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, support narratives, equipment selections, coordination, etc. as required for project circumstances.
  • Provide construction support including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits.
  • Perform senior electrical designer responsibilities for the execution and development of engineering reports which typically include existing building system conditions, short circuit, arc-flash, and load-study analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate with all project disciplines, consultants, and project management to ensure highly coordinated high-quality projects.
  • Mentor junior designers and engineers; provide leadership, guidance, and instruction on assigned projects, helping to shape the capabilities, experience, and acumen of electrical discipline professionals and our overall team.
  • Support team process improvements and standards, participate in the electrical team development and evolution of processes, tools, and workflow to support high-quality and fully coordinated projects.
  • Support project execution, new business pursuits, or marketing/business development efforts, meet with clients, consultants, and outside personnel.
  • Assist in proposal development as well as pursuit planning and go/no-go decisions; support fee proposal development for electrical disciplines.
  • As assigned, provide management of the project and project team to include typical functions of a project manager; build or prove skills necessary for general multi-disciplinary project management.
  • Actively participate in all project specific, project related, and other Guernsey meetings.
  • Pursue engineering licensure in Oklahoma and NCEES registration if board requirements for education, testing, and experience can be achieved.
