About The Position

Vultr is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support its cloud infrastructure vision. This highly visible role focuses on electrical design for high-density compute and reviewing electrical distribution designs for compliance with industry standards. The engineer will work across multiple concurrent site designs, coordinate with other technical disciplines, support construction and site selection activities, and communicate design rationale to clients and tenants. The role also includes mentoring junior electrical engineers.

Requirements

At least 7 years of electrical design engineering experience for mission-critical or data center facilities.
Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution and backup power systems.
Comfort presenting design rationale directly to clients or tenants, not only to internal engineering peers.
Comfort working across multiple concurrent site designs.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with busway, RPP, and high-density rack power distribution.

Responsibilities

Develop and review electrical design packages covering power distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS, and busway.
Ensure electrical designs meet capacity, redundancy, and code requirements across sites.
Coordinate integrated system design with mechanical, structural, and commissioning teams.
Support constructibility reviews and resolve RFIs during construction and site selection.
Serve as the electrical subject matter expert in client or tenant design reviews and technical due diligence, explaining design decisions in terms a non-engineering audience can act on.
Mentor junior electrical engineers on the design team.
