About The Position

The Senior Electrical Assembling Technician will inspect and repair work for JAE’s and/or 3rd party’s directional module package and/or similar products for the oil & gas industries for the Houston Repair Center (JAE Houston, LLC). This role involves general electrical repair work (65%), data entry of defect information and repair work (10%), visual inspection of units (receiving and final inspection) (10%), and other administrative duties including training others (15%).

Requirements

• General computer skills for data entry using Microsoft applications
• Soldering experience: Skillful high temperature soldering experience in electrical assembly, wire stripping, tinning with HMP and PB86 fluxed wire solder.
• Problem-solving abilities: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Attention to detail: Ability to perform precise work and maintain high standards of quality in repair tasks.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience for HMP and or PB86 soldering, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Prior IPC certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Visual Inspection of units returned for repair against NCR
• Removing RTV adhesives without extra damage of chassis, wire harness, components, and other parts
• Removing the damaged parts and replacing them with new parts in correct position and proper alignment
• Soldering with HMP and PB86 solder
• Inspection of work performed as part of own repair and of other technicians
• Placing adhesive or RTV on the repair units
• Data entry of defect information, repair work
• Visual outgoing inspection of repaired units
• Training of new repair technicians
