About The Position

Job Summary Identify and plan the intervention processes on the environment and the characteristics of the productive activities that generate air pollutants, residues, and liquid effluents, identifying the consequences on human health, urbanism, and the organization. Contribute to the development and implementation of EHS education programs, organize and work on campaigns to change, adaptation, and transformation of cultural attitudes and behaviors relating to the EHS. Support Environemental aspects for program development, training and continuous improvement. Perform the lab tests of water and wastewater analyses. Assist in the implementation of environmental management systems in the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Wastewater/Utilities Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to perform environmental inspections, sampling, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Comfortable working in industrial environment, including wastewater systems, scrubbers, spill containment, and waste handling activities.
  • Ability to obtain DOT and RCRA hazardous waste training on site to support compliant waste management.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial operations such as wastewater operations, environmental compliance, waste handling, or facilities/utilities support.
  • Experience with wastewater operations and air pollution control systems (such as scrubbers), including awareness of related regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with spill prevention, waste handling, environmental sampling, and general environmental compliance expectations.
  • Existing DOT/RCRA hazardous waste training (preferred but not required)
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40 (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of all environmental and pollution control systems, including the pH wastewater treatment system, air scrubbers, stormwater control structures, and SPCC/DPCC secondary containment, tanks, drums, transfer areas, and loading dock areas.
  • Perform permit-required wastewater sampling, and other environmental sampling as needed for site operations and regulatory obligations.
  • Support waste management activities, including transferring waste from satellite accumulation areas to the main waste accumulation area, proper labeling, staging, and preparing hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, and other waste streams for shipment.
  • Report abnormal conditions, equipment issues, alarms, leaks, or compliance concerns to EHS and maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain environmental inspection logs, sampling records, waste tracking documentation, and electronic files.
  • Assist with maintaining spill kits, eyewash stations, and environmental response supplies.
  • Support EHS and operations during audits, walkthroughs, regulatory inspections, and follow-up actions.
  • Carry out environmental field activities and documentation under EHS/Engineering direction and escalate issues as needed.
  • Support environmental observations and incident investigations.
