About The Position

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to serve as the primary EHS presence at our Saratoga Springs, NY facility, an existing building undergoing major renovation and phased expansion to support the introduction of manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for an EHS professional who thrives in dynamic manufacturing and construction environments, demonstrates strong judgment and initiative, and is comfortable operating with a high degree of independence at a site remote from the broader EHS organization. You will play a critical role in construction safety oversight while helping position the site for safe, compliant manufacturing operations. The role is expected to be approximately 50% construction safety and contractor EHS management and 50% site EHS program support and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to operate independently with limited day-to-day oversight at a remote site.
  • Training and hands-on experience in medical emergency response and hazardous materials response.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, including experience in construction safety and manufacturing or industrial environments.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant professional EHS certifications.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance programs.
  • Exposure to GMP environments and management of change processes.
  • Experience supporting long-term renovation or construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary Regeneron EHS representative for major renovation and ongoing construction activities within an existing facility.
  • Providing oversight of high-risk activities including hot work, lockout/tagout, crane and rigging operations, confined space entry, excavation, and work at height.
  • Leading contractor EHS management activities including pre-qualification, onboarding, field oversight, and issue resolution.
  • Exercising stop-work authority when conditions warrant and ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Implementing and sustaining site-level EHS programs aligned with Regeneron and IOPS standards.
  • Supporting compliance with OSHA, NYS, and applicable environmental regulations including air, waste, stormwater, and SPDES programs.
  • Conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations; identifying trends and driving corrective actions.
  • Developing and delivering EHS training and safety communications tailored to construction and site personnel.
  • Serving as a trained responder for medical and hazardous materials emergencies and supporting site emergency preparedness activities.
  • Providing on-call EHS support outside of normal business hours for site emergencies.
