About The Position

Our client is looking for a Senior EHS Manager for their Mississippi facilities in Corinth and Booneville. This position will provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to hourly, salaried, and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a large campus.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and engaging an inclusive team.
  • Degree or equivalent job-related experience (preferably in EHS or related field).
  • Proven ability to set and implement a strategic vision.
  • Experience with U.S. environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and drives the execution of the safety strategy for the Mississippi campus to achieve the vision.
  • Provides guidance and EHS leadership to peers, direct reports, and the Mississippi employees.
  • Engages and develops a team of hourly and management EHS professionals.
  • Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
  • Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.
