JOB SUMMARY Daily responsibilities of training, oversight, investigation and reporting to promote safety and ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and procedures. She/He will oversee workers’ compensation and work with various supporting groups in the care of and return of employees who are injured. Develop and align the EHS strategy with international regions (UK, Peru, Guatemala, MX) and educate and support the US operational teams at the facility level to follow the safety programs. She/He will hold management accountable for the continued practice of safety within the operation. This candidate will be knowledgeable about the environmental trends in our industry and be proactive in making sure that our Company complies with the appropriate regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate, both oral and written, in English and Spanish.
  • Experience creating and implementing HSE programs/policies.
  • PC skills including experience writing technical reports.
  • Disciplined record keeping, documentation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift or move 25 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment, and temperatures between 35 and 45 degrees.
  • Ability and willingness to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, taste, smell, etc. as needed to perform essential tasks.

  • Ability to accomplish and manage tasks in a timely manner without constant direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive and effective Health and Safety plan, for implementation across the US distribution network, train and hold Managers accountable at a facility level.
  • Assess safety risks, root causes and develop/update programs and training to mitigate or eliminate risk factors.
  • Oversee the US workers compensation program and accident response.
  • Review and trend accidents using root cause analyses, publish KPI’s quarterly with factual data for the US sites. Collaborate with KPI’s international sites for strategic mitigation on similar issues.
  • Be the SME for the EHS team, using strengths to support and implement programs.
  • Manage environmental issues including regulatory compliance, Haz Mat training, hazardous waste disposal, and documentation.
  • Create and maintain the EHS training matrix – schedule tailgates nationwide.
  • Manage EHS audits and consultations, verify corrective actions are completed.
  • Comply with all quality and safety rules and regulations.
  • Establish a positive safety culture.
  • Handle all facility and customer related environmental requirements.
  • Able to take on additional duties and tasks that may be assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $103,300 - $110,000 annual
