About The Position

Kite is seeking a Senior EH&S Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety (EH&S), physical security, and emergency preparedness programs at the TCF03 site. The role provides day-to-day oversight and coordination of physical-security operations, access control, surveillance, physical key and lock management, and related service providers. It also develops and maintains the site Emergency Response Team program and administers the site Emergency Response Plan, including training, exercises, equipment, and readiness assessments. The Specialist supports EH&S compliance by preparing and updating standard operating procedures, conducting worksite tours, accompanying regulatory inspectors, assisting with reporting, and providing employee and contractor orientation and training. The role also supports incident investigations and corrective actions, maintains supplies of required safety equipment, and contributes to employee engagement and environmental sustainability initiatives. The position requires knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NRC, and DOT requirements and experience across relevant EH&S, security, emergency response, or regulated-site functions.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in a relevant industry and a B.S. degree.
Alternatively, 3+ years of post-secondary education, a Science/Technology Diploma, or equivalent expertise may be considered.
Relevant experience with responsibility for multiple areas, such as EH&S compliance, physical security, emergency response, life-safety systems, service-provider management, incident investigation, or regulated-site operations.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NRC, and DOT requirements.
Ability to conduct risk assessments, identify potential exposures, and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Current standard first aid certification.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day oversight, guidance, and coordination for TCF03 security programs, including physical-security operations, access control, surveillance, physical key and lock management, and related service providers.
Develop, implement, and maintain the site Emergency Response Team program, including team organization, training, qualifications, equipment, exercises, and readiness assessments.
Plan, implement, audit, and coordinate upgrades for site security procedures and equipment.
Oversee and administer the site Emergency Response Plan; organize and conduct training and exercises for staff at all levels.
Assist in preparing and updating EH&S Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with provincial and federal EH&S acts and regulations.
Communicate cross-functionally and tour worksite areas to check that EH&S rules are being observed; accompany EH&S-related regulatory inspectors.
Attend EH&S meetings and report observations, procedure and work-practice changes, and general safety and environmental information to the department.
Assist in collecting and compiling information for monthly and annual reports.
Provide EH&S orientation for new personnel and contractors; prepare, organize, and present specialized safety and environmental training.
Ensure accident and incident investigations are carried out as appropriate and remedial actions progress.
Maintain accessible supplies of appropriate safety equipment; purchase and perform preventative maintenance, and arrange for or perform fit checks to comply with regulations.
Support employee-engagement activities, including safety campaigns, EH&S events, emergency-preparedness awareness, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Perform other related responsibilities and support changing site priorities as assigned.
