About The Position

America’s Credit Unions is a leading company in the Financial Services Trade Association sector, known for our advocacy on behalf of all Credit Unions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Economist to lead high-impact economic analysis that informs strategic decisions, public policy positions, market assessments, and executive communications. The ideal candidate combines rigorous quantitative expertise with strong business judgment and the ability to explain complex economic issues to non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate will independently frame research questions, develop and validate analytical approaches, synthesize large and imperfect datasets, and present actionable insights to senior leaders, clients, regulators, or external stakeholders. This position is a Hybrid role based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate research for America’s Credit Unions' Data & Research department, other ACU departments & Affiliates, state credit union leagues, and ACU committees.
  • Work extensively with ACU Advocacy and Communications staff to enhance the organization’s lobbying and public relations efforts.
  • Co-author comment letters to various regulatory agencies on behalf of ACU and assist in preparing analysis and briefing materials to witnesses for Congressional testimony.
  • Provide education and representation of ACU & Affiliates in public forums, including ACU and league conferences and schools.
  • Consult and advise credit union boards, leagues and other credit union organizations on financial management, economic, and regulatory issues.
  • Give interviews and analysis to various news media on the major issues facing credit unions.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information and analysis.
  • Develop new products for credit unions that make use of information resources in Data & Research and enhance existing products.
  • Coordinate quarterly economic and credit union industry forecast.
  • Present forecast highlights to members in video update.
