About The Position

Airgas is seeking a Senior eCommerce Operations Analyst to join their team as they elevate the online customer journey by transitioning to a modern, integrated eCommerce ecosystem. This role serves as the team’s technical optimizer and efficiency orchestrator, ensuring system health and seamless data flow between PIM, DAM, and Commerce platforms. The ideal candidate is a disciplined, self-starting professional with an 'efficiency mindset' to transform manual routines into automated, reliable processes. They should be an expert in leveraging AI tools to solve technical challenges, document complex workflows, and iterate on internal utilities based on user feedback. This role requires evaluating business problems pragmatically, providing technical support for supplier integrations, and recommending effective paths for operational excellence. High personal accountability and professional consistency are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Communications); or equivalent professional experience in eCommerce operations and data management demonstrating advanced technical logic and problem-solving skills.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an eCommerce operations or technical analyst role, specifically within an integrated enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record of managing daily platform health checks and recurring operational routines with high reliability.
  • Experience identifying business friction points and presenting technical options (Pros/Cons/ROI) to leadership to support decision-making.
  • Direct experience monitoring data flows between enterprise platforms (e.g., PIM, DAM, and Commerce engines) in a headless or integrated architecture.
  • Experience building and maintaining "utility-scale" automation scripts or tools (e.g., Python, Google Apps Script) that solve specific manual inefficiencies.
  • Demonstrated success working independently in a hybrid environment, maintaining consistent professional core hours without constant supervision.
  • Skilled in using Generative AI and prompt engineering (e.g., Google Gemini, NotebookLM) to accelerate documentation, troubleshoot logs, and generate automation scripts.
  • Ability to analyze patterns in support tickets to identify root causes of systemic "handshake" errors between platforms.
  • Functional proficiency in Python, SQL, or JavaScript; focuses on using code as a tool for efficiency rather than building overengineered solutions.
  • Familiarity with how data moves through enterprise ecosystems like Salesforce Commerce, Coveo, and Viamedici.
  • A strong commitment to technical documentation and the maintenance of a transparent SOP library.
  • The ability to remain "heads-down" and productive in a collaborative cube environment, prioritizing critical system checks and project deadlines.
  • Willingness to provide technical guidance and shared best practices to the eCommerce Operations Analyst to ensure team-wide consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated health-check protocols across the core tech stack (Salesforce, Coveo, Viamedici, etc.).
  • Use AI tools to monitor platform handshakes, ensuring product data and assets flow seamlessly through our headless architecture.
  • Shift the team from manual reporting to exception-based monitoring; ensure system checks are consistent, documented, and yield actionable data.
  • Identify operational friction points and evaluate potential solutions, presenting "Option Evaluations" to leadership comparing ROI of process changes, third-party tool buys, or AI-assisted internal builds.
  • Continuously evolve and enhance internal utilities and automation scripts based on direct feedback from the Merchandising team.
  • Analyze ticket patterns to identify systemic "handshake" errors or platform gaps and translate findings into clear technical requirements for the Digital Product Management (DPM) team.
  • Own the technical accuracy and organizational standard of the team’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) library.
  • Act as the team’s lead "Prompt Engineer," utilizing Generative AI (Google Gemini, NotebookLM) to accelerate documentation, debug platform logs, and generate efficiency-driving scripts (Python/Apps Script).
  • Serve as the technical support resource during strategic discussions regarding the "wiring up" of supplier PIM systems to our internal PIM via API connections.
  • Partner with Merchandising Specialists to remove technical bottlenecks, helping them accelerate "speed to shelf" through optimized data ingestion and tool usage.
  • Provide technical guidance and "second-level" troubleshooting support to the eCommerce Operations Analyst, ensuring a shared high standard of operational excellence across the team.
