Senior Echocardiographer
About The Position
Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a Senior Echocardiographer for a full-time, first-shift position. The Echocardiographer performs echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and Doppler ultrasound examinations. Work takes place in the Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, operating room, and ICU, as well as at patients’ bedsides. The position requires three years of experience. Education may be a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, or a high school diploma; relevant Echo Tech experience may be accepted in lieu of education. Basic Life Support is required. An adult echocardiography registry credential (ARDMS, RDCS, or RCS) is required within 12 months of hire.
Requirements
- Three years of experience.
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, or a high school diploma; Echo Tech experience may substitute for education.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Adult echocardiography registry credential (ARDMS, RDCS, or RCS) required within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
- Perform Doppler ultrasound examinations.
- Work in the Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, operating room, and ICU.
- Perform examinations with patients at the bedside.
