About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Drupal Developer as part of our Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services career path to lead the migration of a large-scale public-facing government website into a modern Drupal 11 platform. This role supports the modernization of how constituents access public services and information by designing and executing a comprehensive content and data migration that preserves URLs, relationships, and metadata while transforming legacy content into a structured, accessible, and maintainable digital experience. The migration encompasses webpages, documents, media, taxonomy, metadata, and integrations across thousands of pieces of content and supporting data. This is a fully remote role. At Fearless, this Senior Consultant collaborates with cross functional teams to align the technical vision, implementation, and quality of software systems across development, reliability, testing, and operations. This role will possess the skills to be able to bridge business objectives with technical execution in software development, infrastructure, security, and testing at an advanced application level of proficiency. The Sr. Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders with product and project goals.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of total relevant professional experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 3 years of experience with enterprise-wide website modernization or digital transformation initiatives, with that experience occurring within the past 5 years.
Experience supporting at least one government, higher education, or similarly regulated organization project.
Experience implementing at least one Drupal solution hosted on AWS.
Senior-level proficiency in Drupal architecture, configuration, module development, and content modeling.
Deep experience planning and executing large-scale content and data migrations from legacy systems into modern platforms.
Hands-on background analyzing legacy website content, data structures, files, URLs, redirects, integrations, and dependencies.
Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and structured content migration processes.
Proven ability to migrate documents, media, taxonomy, metadata, and related supporting data while preserving relationships and structure.
Strong background in URL and redirect migration, ensuring continuity of user access and search visibility.
Demonstrated skill in migration validation, reconciliation, data-quality remediation, and troubleshooting.
Track record supporting migration planning, wave execution, production cutover, and post-migration stabilization.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Drupal Migrate tooling, custom migration plugins, and configuration-driven migration processes.
Background in automated migration pipelines and incremental or delta migration approaches.
Knowledge of SEO migration considerations, including metadata preservation and search ranking continuity.
Hands-on work with API and third-party integrations within Drupal environments.
AWS migration services or infrastructure experience supporting large-scale content or data transitions.
Background in complex data-quality remediation, including content cleanup, deduplication, and normalization.

Responsibilities

Develop and configure Drupal components, templates, modules, workflows, and integrations that support the modernized platform and migration requirements.
Lead the technical planning and execution of content and data migration from the legacy website into the Drupal 11 environment.
Analyze legacy content, data structures, files, URLs, redirects, integrations, and dependencies to prepare for migration.
Build repeatable migration processes to extract, transform, load, and validate content and supporting data using Drupal migration tooling and automated pipelines.
Migrate and validate webpages, documents, media, metadata, users, and related records while ensuring data quality and structural integrity.
Preserve required URLs, redirects, relationships, and SEO information during migration to maintain search visibility and user access.
Perform migration reconciliation, data-quality validation, and troubleshooting to resolve inconsistencies and ensure completeness.
Support migration waves, production cutover, post-migration validation, and stabilization to ensure successful transition to the modernized platform.
