About The Position

Cowan is seeking a Senior Driver Dispatcher in Lake City to oversee company truck drivers and ensure customer freight is successfully delivered. The Senior Driver Dispatcher will serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and customers, and will make decisions regarding freight planning, service recovery and driver utilization.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, including 6 months of driver management experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign loads to drivers to meet service commitments and optimize equipment utilization.
• Provide coaching to drivers and make recommendations regarding performance.
• Communicate policy and schedule changes to drivers.
• Mentor drivers in areas of productivity, customer service and attendance.
• Assist with driver payroll.
• Ensure drivers remain in compliance with DOT requirements and regulations.
• Address customer needs and concerns as they arise.
• Ensure proper customer documentation is received.
• Build and execute daily freight delivery plans.
• Collaborate with other frontline managers.
