About The Position

Pacific Smoke International (PSI) is seeking a Senior Distribution Supervisor/ Assistant Manager to join its scaling organization. PSI's mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As a leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, PSI has made significant progress since its founding in 2013. The Senior Distribution Supervisor/ Assistant Manager will be responsible for leading distribution operations with a primary focus on picking performance, service level execution, and team development. This role ensures 100% on-time execution aligned with shipping cutoffs, ≥98% OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and ≥99.5% order accuracy. Acting as the second-in-command to the Distribution Manager, this position requires a highly hands-on leadership approach with a strong presence on the warehouse floor to drive execution, coach team members, and resolve operational issues in real time. The role combines execution excellence, people leadership, and data-driven decision-making to support both day-to-day operations and long-term continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years in warehouse/distribution operations
  • Proven leadership experience (Supervisor or above)
  • Strong expertise in picking operations
  • Cross-functional warehouse exposure
  • WMS / RF system experience
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily picking operations with strong floor presence, ensuring 100% on-time execution aligned with carrier cutoffs and ≥99.5% picking accuracy.
  • Monitor real-time performance and resolve delays proactively, enforcing strict adherence to SOPs and RF scanning discipline.
  • Optimize picking workflows, batching, and task execution.
  • Own and deliver OTIF ≥98% and Accuracy ≥99.5%.
  • Identify at-risk orders and intervene before failure.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on late shipments and picking/fulfillment errors, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate across Receiving, Inventory/Downstocking, Transfers, and Packing & Shipping to prevent bottlenecks and delays.
  • Step in to lead any function when required.
  • Provide hands-on coaching on the warehouse floor, developing team capability in accuracy, productivity, WMS/RF system usage, and process discipline.
  • Address performance gaps and build consistency, supporting the development of future leads and supervisors.
  • Enforce strict adherence to operational SOPs and maintain discipline in task execution, inventory handling, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Drive a zero-tolerance culture for errors impacting service.
  • Monitor daily volume and forecast workload, adjusting labor and resources to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Manage labor allocation (zones, tasks, priorities) and overtime planning and scheduling.
  • Ensure optimal staffing aligned with operational demand.
  • Manage operational issues including inventory discrepancies, partial orders, transfer issues, and shipping delays/carrier constraints.
  • Coordinate with Order Desk, Inventory Control, Human Resources, and Customer Service.
  • Take immediate action to minimize service impact.
  • Analyze operational performance (productivity, accuracy, OTIF trends) and identify/implement improvements in workflow efficiency, picking optimization, and process standardization.
  • Support automation readiness and system enhancements.
  • Act as backup to the Distribution Manager and lead operations independently when required.
  • Make real-time decisions on labor allocation, order prioritization, and escalations.
  • Ensure operational continuity at all times.
  • Utilize Excel to track KPIs (OTIF, accuracy, productivity), identify trends and risks.
  • Prepare reports for daily/weekly performance reviews and management updates.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards and exception logs.
  • Use data insights to drive actions and improvements.
