Leidos Engineering is seeking a (REMOTE) Distribution Planning and Analysis Engineer to join our growing distribution planning team. This position will primarily focus on the execution of distribution planning studies, including feeder capacity assessments, voltage and thermal loading analysis, contingency evaluations, load growth studies, hosting capacity assessments, and distributed energy resource (DER) interconnection impact studies. Additional responsibilities may include arc flash and coordination studies, distribution protection analysis, and self-healing system evaluations as project and client needs dictate. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, validate, and troubleshoot distribution system models using industry-standard planning and analysis software. Responsibilities include performing model quality assurance, investigating study anomalies, validating utility data, and integrating information from GIS, SCADA, AMI, and other utility systems to support accurate and defensible planning recommendations. Studies are conducted for Municipal Utilities, Investor-Owned Utilities, and Electric Cooperatives. The position will involve direct client interaction, presentation of technical findings, and support of business development activities. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex study results into practical recommendations for utility clients.
