This position offers the opportunity to work in a project team environment and lead other engineers and designers using knowledge of engineering and design practices. The role involves preparing/reviewing construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 kV through 34 kV), structural analyses, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, Bill of Material, Cost Estimates, and Traffic control plans and/or permit drawings. The engineer will work on project teams with others involved in the design of new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities, participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews, and work directly with client representatives. Responsibilities include analyzing, designing, or reviewing priority feeds, supporting maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components, planning system modifications, designing and overseeing complex tasks, developing work packages, and providing construction support. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs is expected. Career development is supported via peer-learning through S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice.” This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of spending three days a week in the office and two days remotely.
