About The Position

The Senior Director, Talent and Organization Development plays a pivotal role in shaping how Inspire supports, develops, and engages our people. Leading a small but high-impact team, this role oversees learning and development and the build out of talent management and employee experience to drive performance, growth, and belonging. This is a highly collaborative position that partners closely with HR and business leaders to craft and execute strategies that help employees thrive. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on leader-able to zoom out to shape vision and direction and zoom in to contribute to program design and delivery. They'll act as a trusted advisor, coach, and thought partner, while also rolling up their sleeves to build meaningful learning, culture, and engagement experiences. They can lead others through ambiguous, complex, and sensitive situations to set a direction and deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in learning & development, talent development, talent management, organizational effectiveness, or HR leadership with a focus on learning and talent.
  • 7+ years managing direct reports.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and modern learning methodologies.
  • Strategic thinker with strong consulting, planning, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. Able to diagnose root causes of performance gaps and organizational opportunities. Translates vision into actionable programs.
  • Strong collaborator who builds trust and maintains close partnerships across HR and business teams; skilled in stakeholder engagement and influencing.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide change and capability-building initiatives that drive measurable impact.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable leveraging digital tools, platforms, data, and metrics to enhance learning and employee experience.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify complex concepts and tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with LMS platforms and e-learning technologies, with a focus on usability, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in healthcare, medical device, or other regulated industry strongly preferred but not required.
  • Experience leading talent management, culture, and diversity programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean or organizational effectiveness programs a plus.
  • Master's degree preferred in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Learning and Development (Strategy, Build, and Delivery)
  • Consult with leaders to understand needed behavior or skill changes, which may result in a variety of solutions (not necessarily training).
  • Design and deliver learning programs that build critical capabilities and position-based skills across Inspire, empowering employees to perform at their best.
  • Use a collaborative and consultative approach to identify learning needs and tailor solutions that effectively address those needs and support organizational goals.
  • Ensure training remains relevant and forward-looking, especially in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Bring forward and experiment with new technologies and delivery methods.
  • Ensure training programs meet regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the medical device industry, in a practical manner.
  • Support the development and implementation of leadership strategies for emerging, new, and experienced leaders that align with Inspire's growth and culture.
  • Strengthen the leadership pipeline through targeted development experiences and coaching.
  • Collaborate with and empower leaders to foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to anticipate future capability needs and build programs that prepare Inspire's workforce for what's next.
  • Leverage data in strategy formation and decision making. Measure impact through engagement scores, development metrics, and business outcomes.
  • Evolve Inspire's talent processes - including assessments, talent reviews, performance reviews, goal setting, development planning, and check-ins - to support employee development, performance, engagement and career satisfaction.
  • Lead annual talent processes with a focus on meaningful conversations, supported by streamlined tools and "just-enough" process and structure.
  • Champion initiatives that strengthen Inspire's culture and bring our values to life.
  • Build a strategy and programs focused on diversity, inclusion, and belonging to foster an inclusive workplace.
  • Drive employee engagement through thoughtful survey strategies, actionable insights, action planning, and follow-through.
  • Innovate new ways of thinking and approaches to building culture and belonging.
  • Lead, empower, and coach Talent & Organization Development team members, resulting in a high-impact team that maximizes each team members' potential, contributions, and career satisfaction.
  • Set clear priorities aligned to business and HR strategy, focusing on delivering programs and tools that create meaningful impact. Be intentional about where the team invests its energy, determining the best solutions given capacity constraints and maximizing value-add.
  • Build out foundational toolkit and best practices to support change management needs across the organization, encouraging employee learning and self-service where possible.
  • Build capability within the business and HR over time to lead larger change strategies in the future, ensuring smooth transitions and strong adoption.
  • Own the strategy and ongoing optimization of Inspire's LMS platform.
  • Ensure the LMS supports learning, compliance, and development goals for both employees and external audiences (e.g., physicians and their teams).
  • Leverage the LMS to promote a self-driven learning culture through practical reporting tools and skill development learning paths.
