About The Position

Success Academy is a growing network of public charter schools in New York and Florida, dedicated to providing children with a rigorous, whole-child education. They are seeking a results-obsessed Senior Director, Talent Acquisition to manage the day-to-day operations of their recruiting organization, excluding Academic Teacher recruitment and TA Enablement (Operations & Systems). The role requires leading TA like a high-performing sales organization, with a focus on daily activity targets, pipeline management, and coaching to metrics. This is a hands-on, high-energy operating role based out of their NYC Financial District office, with a hybrid work schedule (on-site Tuesday-Thursday, remote Monday-Friday). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in similar high-volume, metrics-intensive environments and a passion for the organization's mission.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in recruiting / talent acquisition.
  • 4+ years leading recruiters through managers in a high-volume, metrics-intensive environment.
  • Track record leading a high-velocity recruiting engine in a search firm, staffing/recruiting agency (senior leadership over a producing team), or a fast-paced, technology-forward, high-growth (small-to-mid-sized) company running high-volume recruiting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage recruiting like a sales floor, including activity metrics, pipeline and conversion discipline, quotas, and daily coaching.
  • Hands-on experience across the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing through close.
  • Proven ability to build and scale teams, including standing up new teams, markets, or functions in a fast-growth setting.
  • Fluency with a modern recruiting tech stack (Greenhouse strongly preferred; GEM, BrightHire, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to live locally to the NYC area and commit to the required commute.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day leadership, execution, and results across non-instructional, corporate, and arts & athletics recruiting functions.
  • Represent the talent acquisition function when the Head of Talent Acquisition is unavailable.
  • Manage recruiting teams as a high-performing sales organization, setting daily and weekly activity targets, monitoring pipeline, conversion, and quality-of-hire metrics in real-time.
  • Coach Leads and recruiters to achieve hiring targets.
  • Lead, hire, and develop a bench of recruiting Leads and managers, setting a high performance bar, providing direct feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Forecast hiring demand, set capacity, headcount, and coverage plans, and reallocate resources to meet aggressive volume goals.
  • Partner with TA leadership to build the Florida TA Team and operations.
  • Optimize and streamline the end-to-end recruiting process to enhance candidate experience, reduce time-to-hire, and improve quality of hire.
  • Manage vendor and agency relationships and work towards reducing agency reliance.
  • Partner with TA leadership and the TA strategy/operations function to translate enterprise plans into weekly results.
  • Build strong relationships with school and corporate hiring managers, People partners, and senior leaders to align on needs and deliver on hiring goals.
  • Lead several recruiting teams, approximately 20+ recruiters and managers through 3-5 Leads, covering non-instructional, corporate/executive, and arts & athletics roles.
  • Partner with TA leadership to build the Florida TA Team and operations.
