Senior Director Software Engineering
About The Position
The Senior Director, Software Engineering will lead, manage, and grow multiple product-focused software engineering teams. This role is accountable for delivering on the technology vision and roadmap for the assigned product portfolio, working within and across teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies. The position is responsible for driving and evolving automation throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, establishing and tracking key metrics to measure delivery performance and quality. The Senior Director will frequently collaborate with Product and Business leadership to understand needs and identify opportunities for value and efficiency, while also providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning. This role involves managing budget and project resourcing, improving team efficiency, and attracting, developing, and retaining talent. The ideal candidate will anticipate future technology trends and business needs, improve speed to market, build positive relationships with internal and external partners, and translate technology challenges to business collaborators. Ensuring standard operating procedures, project guidelines, and corporate and industry security policies are applied across the team are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
- Manage team(s) consisting of 10+ resources with a variety of roles
- Use an agile approach to software delivery
- Build a high-performing team with a results-oriented mindset
- Oversee capacity planning and team budget forecasting
- Effectively oversee off-shore software product delivery
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience
- Experience with SCM, Continuous Integration methodologies
- Strong sense of ownership over your work
- Determination to follow issues to resolution both with and without guidance
- Able to work in a loose, fast-paced environment

- Build positive relationships and lead key partnerships with both internal and external partners
- Translate technology challenges and opportunities to key business collaborators to ensure consensus and prioritization
