About The Position

This position, in alignment with Banner Health System and Service Line strategy, is responsible for facilitating and implementing strategic service line growth plans that add financial and reputational value. The Senior Director (SD) will develop a full understanding of the markets and the actions required to achieve sustainable results, including recruiting and retaining patients/members and building profitable programs. The SD will coordinate, collaborate and communicate with all related teams including the physician enterprise, acute care delivery, ambulatory services, and Banner Health Plans & Networks to ensure alignment with plans. This includes actively integrating the implementation of the service line strategy and delivery/service model for Banner Health's designated Service Line across the entire delivery system. Working with executive leadership of the service line, this position coordinates the service line planning process and ensures synchronicity with the system-level operational and capital planning processes. The position supports business plan development and is accountable for implementing initiatives to grow volume, developing new service line programs, adding and/or expanding partnerships that achieve clearly expressed financial goals. Other service line operational and clinical outcome measures will be developed in partnership with appropriate teams and SD will ensure that dashboards are presented on a quarterly basis and correction plans are submitted where needed. Responsible for improvement in financial performance of the service line and influencing the system resources necessary to drive strategic growth. Facilitates the resolution of management, clinician and policy issues related to prioritized, system-wide service line programs across all locations. This position must work collaboratively with a wide variety of clinical, technical, physician and corporate resources to successfully implement service line programs and services across the organization. Requires high level of collaboration, critical thinking skills, service excellence focus and results-orientation. All work must be completed in compliance with state and federal regulations and supports procedures, policies and standards to ensure consistent application and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with ten years of service line experience demonstrating increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Significant technical and managerial, typically gained through seven to ten years relevant experience.
  • This position must work collaboratively with a wide variety of clinical, technical, physician and corporate resources to successfully implement service line programs and services across the organization.
  • This position works closely with system executives, facility executives and department administration providing a centralized strategy and business plan for the service line.
  • Requires high level of collaboration, critical thinking skills, service excellence focus and results-orientation.

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the executive leadership of the service line to accelerate success.

  • Coordinating, collaborating and communicating with all related teams including the physician enterprise, acute care delivery, ambulatory services, and Banner Health Plans & Networks to ensure alignment with plans.
  • Coordinating the service line planning process and ensuring synchronicity with the system-level operational and capital planning processes.
  • Collaborating with acute care, ambulatory, and physician divisions related to service line capital planning and the preparation of business plans to align with system service line strategy.
  • Developing service line operational and clinical outcome measures in partnership with appropriate teams and ensuring that dashboards are presented on a quarterly basis and correction plans are submitted where needed.
  • Ensuring plans are implemented and tracked. Monitors and reports on key performance metrics; recommends adjustments to strategies as needed to achieve goals.
