The Director of Revenue Operations will work alongside the Chief Accounting Officer as a key leader of the finance team with respect to bringing the Company through it’s full commercial launch of its first anticipated product including managing all aspects of the related accounting. This person will be responsible for the oversight and management of the accounting for revenue, including month end close process, review and coordination of SOX control work with the internal and external teams, as well as overseeing the delivery of accurate and timely accounting for revenue transactions in the event the Company scales to a full commercial launch. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders (i.e. Accounting & Finance, Market Access, Commercial, Manufacturing, etc.) to develop the appropriate gross to net accounting for our products, as well as the review of accounting impacts to accounts receivable, COGS and inventory. This position is based in our Woburn office and welcomes hybrid work! Local candidates are expected to be on-site a minimum of 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to own this process and work with business partners and peers cross functionally to develop appropriate accounting processes related to the Company’s first anticipated commercial launch.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and communicate complex technical issues and analysis to internal and external stakeholders, including members of the management team and the external auditors.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
  • 10-15 years of experience in accounting/finance within the biotechnology or life sciences industries, with emphasis on commercial product launch

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Big 4 experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Company’s first Order-to-Cash business processes by working with internal and external stakeholders to support the Company’s anticipated product launch.
  • Work cross functionally to implement the Order-to-Cash process within Oracle, working with our third-party Oracle implementor. This will include system integration work with our third-party logistic provider.
  • Review relevant contracts, including 3PL and specialty distribution/pharmacy agreements, to ensure proper accounting.
  • Build and maintain gross to net revenue and inventory accounting policies and practices to ensure revenue and inventory transactions are properly recorded.
  • Develop necessary revenue and inventory reporting within Oracle for month end close, and support business analytics.
  • Implement, develop and maintain robust internal controls related to the revenue and inventory process, including key controls around the gross to net calculation, to ensure compliance with US GAAP, other regulations and internal financial policies.
  • Work with the accounting team through the month end close process including creation and review of journal entries from members of the accounting team, review reconciliations, and review analysis for product revenue, gross to net, inventory and account receivables.
