About The Position

Sovos is seeking a Senior Director, Regulatory & Industry Intelligence to translate regulatory change into business impact and equip product, marketing, and government relations teams with the foresight and context to stay ahead. The role connects developments across sectors, systems, and supply chains to help Sovos remain a trusted voice in a changing regulatory landscape. The position provides regulatory, industry, and market intelligence to product management and informs product strategy and roadmaps through direct customer engagement. It builds and maintains an AI-enabled regulatory knowledge graph, leads thought leadership and practical guidance, supplies regulatory narratives to marketing, engages with governments and industry bodies, and develops internal education that helps teams understand regulatory context. The role also monitors the expansion of regulation into business processes and identifies ways to turn developments into product strengths and competitive advantages. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in regulatory analysis, policy intelligence, or a related field; credibility with government and industry stakeholders; experience working with product and marketing teams; comfort with AI-assisted workflows and knowledge systems; and strong writing, speaking, and educational skills. The role is listed as full-time in the United States and tagged remote. A background check and drug test are required upon hire due to client contractual obligations.

Requirements

Deep expertise in regulatory analysis, policy intelligence, or a related field, with a track record of translating complex regulatory change into business impact.
Fluency in engaging government bodies, industry associations, and senior stakeholders, with a record of being a trusted voice in regulatory or policy circles.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with product management and marketing teams and translating technical or regulatory content into clear, actionable guidance and narratives.
Comfort with AI-assisted workflows and experience, or strong curiosity, in building knowledge systems, taxonomies, or similar structures.
Strong writing and speaking skills, including the ability to author thought leadership, lead forums, and educate internal teams on complex regulatory topics.
Deep expertise in law, public policy, business, or a related field, acquired through formal education or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to clear a background check and drug test upon hire due to client contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

Provide product management with regulatory, industry, and market intelligence to inform product strategy and roadmaps, using customer workshops, advisory boards, and panels.
Build and maintain an AI-enabled regulatory graph that makes Sovos's regulatory knowledge quickly and precisely accessible.
Author forward-looking publications, solution blueprints, and implementation guidance, and represent Sovos in industry forums.
Provide marketing with regulatory narratives, inflection points, and intelligence for campaigns and content, sequencing messages according to regulatory trajectories.
Engage governments and industry bodies to establish Sovos as a trusted adviser, influence regulatory direction, and bring early intelligence on interpretation and intent into products and messaging.
Translate regulatory insights into internal education programs and build cross-functional regulatory literacy.
Monitor the expansion of regulation into business processes and turn developments into product strengths and competitive advantages.
